Reviews policy
Last updated 16 September 2026
This policy explains how ratings and reviews work on Owelz public pages (owelz.com) and in the member app.
Who can leave a review
Only members with a recorded attendance can review. A member may rate an instructor for a session they attended within the previous 14 days, and a studio after at least one attendance, at most once every 90 days. Staff accounts of a studio cannot review that studio or its instructors. Members blocked by a studio cannot review it.
What a review contains
A star rating from 1 to 5, up to three tags from a fixed list, and an optional private note of up to 500 characters.
What is public
Only aggregates: the average rating (to one decimal), the number of reviews and how often each tag was chosen — and only once an instructor or studio has received five or more reviews. Private notes are shown to the studio's staff and, for instructor reviews, to the reviewed instructor. Notes are never published.
Editing and deleting
A member may edit a review for 7 days after posting and delete it at any time. Deleted reviews are removed from aggregates.
Flags and moderation
An instructor or studio may flag a note as abusive, discriminatory, or unrelated to the class. Flagged notes are hidden from the studio and instructor while Owelz reviews them. Owelz may remove reviews that violate this policy, that are fraudulent, or that are submitted from accounts created for that purpose. Repeated abuse leads to loss of reviewing rights.
Studio responses
A studio may respond privately to a review. The response is visible to the member who wrote it and is not public.
