Nothing you import is final. You can import a corrected file on top of the first one, or take an import back and start that step again.

Importing the same file again#

Importing a file twice is safe: what is already in Owelz is matched and never doubled. The preview marks those rows Already here, and the import skips them.

A customer who is already here is not changed: importing only fills in fields their record is missing. The result says so: 383 were already here and had their empty fields filled.

In sale and visit rows, customers are told apart by email and phone together. Two sisters sharing a family email, each with her own mobile, can buy the same package on the same day, and both sales go in.

Two lists are not checked against your account in the preview, so import each of them once:

• Instructors. An instructor whose phone is already on your staff is refused by the import.
• Rooms. Check the Rooms page before you import the list again.

Fixing refused rows#

You don't need to undo anything to fix refused rows. Download the rows to fix, correct them, and import that file on the same step. Only the fixed rows go in. If you corrected the original file instead, import the whole of it: the rows already in are skipped, and only the fixed ones are added.

Past imports#

Past imports, on Import data, lists every import of customers, customer packages, attendance history and expenses, newest first: what it was, the file, who ran it and when. Each press of Import is one import.

Undo#

Press Undo on an import. Before anything happens, the confirmation says exactly what it will remove: for example, This removes 40 customers, 707 sales, 731 payments. Press Yes, undo import and it removes what that import added, and nothing else.

What it keeps:

• Customers with activity from outside that import: a sale made in Owelz, a booking, a note, an invitation to the app, or a sale or visit from another import. The confirmation says how many it keeps.
• Sales that something outside the import uses: a booking made in Owelz on it, a payment, a voucher, a guest pass a friend used.
• The cash drawer amount. Imports never moved the cash box, so undoing one doesn't either.

An undone import is marked Undone, with the date. Pressing Undo again does nothing more. If the import added nothing (a file imported a second time, say), the confirmation says Nothing from this import is left to remove. Every undo is recorded in the Activity log.

Undo needs the owner, or a role with Company details → Manage that is not limited to some branches: an import spans every branch.

Undo newest first#

A customer who still has sales or visits from a later import is kept. So undo in the opposite order to importing:

1. Attendance history
2. Customer packages
3. Customers

Expenses stand on their own, and can be undone at any time.

What Undo doesn't cover#

Classes, branches, rooms, instructors and packages are your studio's setup, and they are not in Past imports. Change or remove them on their own pages: Classes, Branches, Rooms, Staff → Instructors and Packages.
